CACSPS Foldable Dog Pool Review: Does This 87” Dog Pool Keep Summer Cool?

Last month, it hit 94 degrees, right? Max was so hot, he was panting so hard, he could barely walk. He kept laying on the cold tile, in the bathroom, and he wouldn’t move. I tried spraying him with water, I tried the cooling vest, but nothing worked. I wanted to get him a pool, so he could cool off, in the backyard.

I looked at the other pools, but they were so expensive. The big ones, were $80, or $90, and they were inflatable, which took forever to blow up. And then, I found the CACSPS Foldable Dog Pool. It was 87 inches, huge, it was $58, and it was foldable, no inflation needed. I ordered it immediately, because I was tired of Max overheating. After using it for a month, I put together this full CACSPS Dog Pool review to share everything I learned, the good, the bad, and the annoying little things that no one tells you about.

So, what is this thing, anyway? It’s a foldable pool, right? It’s made of thick PVC, 0.55mm, they said, so it’s durable. It has these hard plastic panels, around the edge, so it holds its shape, right? You don’t have to inflate it, you just open it, and it pops up, and then you fill it with water.

It’s 87 inches, which is huge, right? That’s big enough for a Great Dane, they said, or multiple dogs, or even kids. It’s 14 inches high, so it holds a lot of water. It has a drain plug, at the bottom, so you can drain the water, easily, when you’re done.

And it folds up, right? When you’re done, you fold it, and it’s this little, compact thing, you can store it, in your garage, or your closet, it doesn’t take up any space. That was perfect, I thought, because I don’t have a lot of space, in my garage.

My Story: Putting the CACSPS Dog Pool to the Test

When the pool arrived, I was so excited. It was this big, heavy box, right? I dragged it, into the backyard, and I opened it. And it popped open, in 10 seconds! Just like they said, no inflation, no blowing up, nothing. It was perfect.

And the smell! Oh my god, the smell. It was this strong, plastic, chemical smell. Like, new plastic, but way stronger. It filled my whole backyard. I had to leave it outside, for 3 days, to air out, because the smell was so strong. I washed it, with soap, 3 times, before the smell went away.

Then, I filled it with water. It took 20 minutes, to fill it, because it’s so big. 87 inches, that’s a lot of water. But once it was full, Max ran over, and jumped in! He was so happy! He was splashing, he was biting the water, he was laying down, in the water. He was cool, he wasn’t panting, anymore. I was so happy, this was exactly what I needed!

But then, 10 minutes later, I noticed, there was water, leaking out, of the bottom. I looked, and there was a hole! A tiny hole, in the bottom of the pool. Max’s nail, he scratched it, when he jumped in. And I had trimmed his nails, the day before! I couldn’t believe it. The PVC was so thin, his nail, just scratched it, and made a hole.

I had the repair patches, right? They included 3 repair patches, in the box. I put one on the hole, and it stopped leaking. But still, that was so annoying. I just got it, and it already had a hole.

Then, when we were done, I tried to fold it, to put it away. Oh my god, folding it. The instructions said, it’s easy to fold. But it was so hard! Those hard plastic panels, they wouldn’t bend. I tried, for 20 minutes, I was sweating, I was pulling, I was pushing, I couldn’t get it to fold. I had to watch a youtube tutorial, to figure out how to fold it. And even then, it took me 15 more minutes, to get it folded.

And the drain plug! When I drained the water, the plug was so hard to get out. And then, when I put it back in, it leaked. It wouldn’t seal, right. So, when I stored it, there was still water, inside, and it got moldy, after a week.

But the best part? For the first 10 minutes, it worked perfectly. Max was cool, he had fun, he didn’t overheat. That was the whole reason I bought it, and that part worked, for a little while.

What I Liked

• It’s so big: 87 inches, it’s huge. It fits Max, it fits my niece, it fits the neighbor’s dog, everyone can play in it.
• It’s so easy to open: It pops open, in 10 seconds, no inflation, no blowing up, nothing. That’s so easy.
• It’s so cheap: $58, that’s nothing, compared to the other pools, that are $80, or $90.
• It folds up, small: When you do get it folded, it’s this little, compact thing, it fits in my garage, it doesn’t take up any space.
• It has a drain plug: It has a drain plug, at the bottom, so you can drain the water, easily, when you’re done.

What I Didn’t Like

• It’s so easy to tear: The PVC is so thin, Max’s nail, scratched it, and made a hole, in 10 minutes. A lot of people have this problem, their dogs tear it, in 5 minutes.
• Folding it is impossible: Opening it is easy, but folding it, is so hard. It took me 35 minutes, to fold it, the first time. I had to watch a youtube tutorial.
• The smell is unbearable: It has this strong, plastic, chemical smell, that takes 3 days, to air out. I had to wash it, 3 times, to get the smell off.
• The drain plug leaks: The drain plug doesn’t seal, right. It leaks, so when you store it, water gets stuck inside, and it gets moldy.
• It doesn’t work for dogs with long nails: If your dog has long nails, they will tear it, immediately. Even if you trim their nails, they can still tear it.

Is the CACSPS Dog Pool Right for Your Dog?

So, is this thing right for you? Well, that depends. If you have a small dog, or a puppy, that doesn’t scratch, and you don’t mind folding it, for 30 minutes? Then yeah, this is perfect. It works, it’s big, it’s cheap, it keeps your dog cool.

But if you have a big dog, or a dog that scratches, or has long nails? Then no, this is not for you. Because they will tear it, in 10 minutes.

And if you hate strong smells? Then no, don’t buy this. The smell is so strong, it takes 3 days, to air out.

Also, if you don’t want to spend 30 minutes, folding it, then no, don’t buy this. Because folding it, is a nightmare.
